Hi, I’m Eryn Tehan!! The Pink Pilot!!—your new Certified Flight Instructor! Before I was logging hours in the sky, I was a fine artist, obsessed with color, composition, and telling stories through oil painting, specifically, landscapes. Eventually, my canvas got an upgrade: blue skies, pink headsets, and a flight deck full of possibility. I’ve trained and flown in a variety of single‑engine aircraft, including Cessna 152s, Skyhawk 172s, Piper Arrows, Cardinal 177RG, Diamond DA20 and a small amount of time in RV12s. From trusty trainers to more advanced platforms, I bring my experience from each aircraft into every lesson.
My goal is to make complex concepts feel simple, visual, and fun—whether we’re talking aerodynamics, airspace, or your first cross‑country. If you’re a creative, a daydreamer, or someone who never quite saw themselves in the “typical pilot” box, you’re in the right place. I turned my art brain into an aviator brain, and I’m here to help you do the same—one pink‑powered flight at a time.
Beyond the flight deck, I bring a strong background in communication, design, and coaching to every lesson. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of Oregon with a minor in Graphic Design, which means I’m obsessed with making complex ideas feel clear, visual, and easy to remember. I’ve also completed a technical coaching program at the University of Portland, giving me tools to teach in a structured, supportive way that meets you where you are.
All of that shows up in how I teach: lots of visuals, plain‑language explanations, and a calm, encouraging vibe—so you feel confident asking questions, making mistakes, and growing into the best pilot you can be.
Ready to fly with me? I can't wait to meet you!

If the weather, your health, or your gut says “not today,” I want you to feel 100% free to speak up. As your instructor, I will never pressure you to fly. We’ll always prioritize safety, sound aeronautical decision making, and your long‑term confidence over any single lesson.
